Creating Stella
Stella is the character everyone needs. She is both unlikeable to those around her and coveted by those who don't like her. She represents the few women in the all-male workforce that persevered to become bosses. She is extraordinarily outspoken, which makes most people uncomfortable. Nevertheless, it seems to get her where she wants to go.

Stella, however, is not as confident as her mouth is. She seeks comfort in her friends, even if she does not directly ask them for it. She is the only one who stays in Poland, hoping to preserve her career, which is ultimately derailed by societal expectations. She misses her friends from the mines.

Stella is a strong figure who paved paths for women. She is an early feminist. Perhaps a bit dramatic, not always likable. She is proudly loyal, spicy, and direct. I created Stella as a representation of the women that fought against societal standards early-on. The women who had little choice but to be controversial. They had to take on masculine personas in order to fill masculine roles.
She rejects femininity to get where she wants to go.
